Wine Bar Warm-Ups

by Alison Bender

White may be winter’s preferred palette, but indoors it’s all about the color red: merlots imparting cherry aromas, cabernets that conjure blackcurrants and syrahs and zins hinting at black pepper and spice. Sample some of the area’s best wine bars and tastiest reds—after all, even if the weather outside is frightful, you’ll find plenty of places to sip something delightful.

Welcome to Tahoe

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a longtime Tahoe fan, let us help you make the most of your stay. Although it’s hard to take your eyes off The Lake’s stunning scenery, a read through this issue of Lake Tahoe Traveler will provide you with a
mountain of insiders’ advice for local winter fun.

With North America’s largest concentration of
ski resorts, plenty of powder and an average of 274 sunny days a year, plus fantastic cross-country, snowshoe and sledding options to boot, the Northern Sierra makes it hard to head indoors. But when you do, great restaurants, casinos, shops
and spas await.
