About 5 or 7 years ago there was a rental place in the Village, but the owners sold the store, the kayaks, as well as their home. I have not seen a rental place since.

Lake Arrowhead is a privately owned and operated recreational facility that is not open to the public. This means even if you drag a kayak up there, you must pay for an ALA decal ($25-$50) and have an ALA boating license ($15). You must remain no further than 100' from the shoreline. If you want to cross the Lake, you must pay for a full boat fee ($200-$300).

Kayak Rentals are easy at Big Bear Lake, only 30 minutes away. It is a public lake, and there are many rental facilities such as: http://www.bigbearmarina.com/boats.html.

Have fun! Bring a sweatshirt, it's getting cold at night!
References :
http://www.ala-ca.org/graphic.html
