things to do in south lake tahoe?

im going to be stuck in south lake tahoe for my dads work convention without a car. i will be staying at one of the hotels downtown near the heavenly village. anyone know things to do walking distance from there?
Well besides being surrounded by casinos 
there are lots of novelty shops/cinema about to browse, without knowing what you are into it’s hard to recommend anything specifically.
One thing that you definitely must take a ride on is the Gondola lift, it goes all the way up to the peaks and you’ll see a view you’ll never forget for a long time. You can also take one of the cruise ferries out for a dinner/tour around the lake.
Yeah i live on the north shore, I go to south lake quite a bit, I’ll actually be there this week for a few things for work *bleh*. But there are a bunch of stuff to do, there are the beaches right there, you can take senic rides on the ski lifts. There are a bunch of touristy things to do, like the t-shirts shops, and walking down and seeing the lake, there are a few night clubs over there if you are over 18, (I think there is an 18 an over club?) Um, tons of stuff to do, just don’t stay inside especially when you are so close to one of the prettiest places in the world.
