Where is a good place to stay for snow skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado?

Nov-11-2009 Posted under Ski Breckenridge

My wife and I are going for our 1 year anniversary, and have never been skiing before. I would like to stay at a nice place. Any help would be appreciated.

Breckenridge is a very nice town with a lot of fun things to do. There are several nice places to stay. I have stayed at a condo which was great. The hotels are all nice, and you might like one of the bed and breakfasts. I don’t know your personal style, but there is free bus service all over town so it won’t matter where you stay you can get to the ski runs easily, and there are plenty of places right on the ski area.

Well, if you really want to go all-out, check out the Beaver Run Resort ( http://www.resideo.com/us/colorado/breckenridge/30155078.resort ) or the Mountain Thunder Lodge ( http://www.resideo.com/us/colorado/breckenridge/87305467.lodge ) — both cater to skiiers and offer great views, activities, etc.

Hope that helps…good luck, have fun — and congrats!!

The Hyatt is really nice, and it’s right there on Main Street and slopeside too.

My second choice is Mountain Thunder Lodge, even though it’s not right on the mountain, it’s really close to walk to the gondola, and you can ski back to your place. (It’s ski-in, but not ski out) It’s also one block off of Main Street.
